ATV tire size chart will help you to find the right tire size for your ATV without any difficulty.
ATV tire brands make different types of ATV tires in different sizes. That’s why it’s important to see the ATV tire size chart before getting a 4-wheeler.
We are going to give you the complete ATV tire size chart where you will find your ATV models’ front tire size, rear tire size, and also lug nut size information.
ATV Tire Size Chart

Size decoder:
25×8-12 means 25 in tall, 8 in wide, fits a 12 in rim.
27×9R14 means 27 in tall, 9 in wide, 14 in rim, R = radial.
Metric example 255/65R12: width 255 mm, sidewall is 65 percent of width, rim 12 in. Multiply mm by 25.4 to convert to inches.
Scope note: This page covers ATVs. Side-by-sides and UTVs moved to a separate chart to keep results relevant.
Arctic Cat, Honda, Polaris, Suzuki, Can-am, Kawasaki, and Yamaha ATV tire size with wheels application charts are available here. So follow the tables down below to find all of the ATV tire brand’s tire size charts.

How to read ATV tire sizes
Sizes are written height × width − rim or height × width × rim. If you see R, it is a radial. Metric uses width in mm / aspect % / rim. Keep front and rear diameters matched unless your manual lists staggered sizes. Stay within the clearances of fenders, struts, tie-rods, and footwells.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trail Boss 330 | 2003 | 23×7-10 | 22×11-10 | 4×156 front; rear varies by hub† |
† Some references list a 4/4.00-inch rear. Always verify at the hub or in the manual for your exact year.
Notes on bolt patterns and trims
- Polaris Sportsman and Scrambler adult ATVs use 4×156 hubs front and rear across the modern era. This is explicitly shown in the Sportsman 500 service manual and remains consistent on later platforms; Polaris owner’s manuals rarely print bolt pattern, so use the service manual as the canonical reference and verify before you buy wheels.
- Youth models and older trail quads can vary by hub and year; that’s why I mark bolt pattern “verify.” Phoenix and 110s are commonly accessorized; measure or check the parts fiche for your VIN.

- Utility Yamaha ATVs like Grizzly and Kodiak use 4×110 across generations. Sport ATVs like Raptor and YFZ typically use split patterns: 4×156 front and 4×115 rear. Always verify by year before ordering wheels.
- SE Grizzly trims in recent years ship with 27-inch Maxxis Zilla on 14-inch aluminum wheels from the factory. If your page shows 25-inch for SE, update it.

Notes that help users shop correctly
- Bolt pattern: Can-Am Outlander and Renegade ATVs use 4×137 on modern platforms. BRP spec sheets rarely print the pattern, so treat 4×137 as typical and verify for your exact year/trim before ordering wheels.
- Wheel diameter by trim: Base Outlander 500/700 rides on 12-inch wheels with 25-inch tires. XT / XT-P trims commonly step to 14-inch wheels with 26-inch tires. X mr trims use mud tires in 28–30 inches from the factory.
- 6×6 models: Front and rear tire sizes match standard Outlander 850/1000R trims, but the chassis is longer with dual rear axles; use the 6×6 spec sheet for any parts cross-checks.

Upsizing without rub: a simple checklist
A one inch overall diameter increase is common, but do not assume it will clear on every trim. Before you buy, do this quick check: turn the bars lock to lock on level ground and under compression, confirm clearance at fenders, struts, sway bars, brake lines, and tie-rod ends. Verify rear footwell and inner fender clearance at full squat with cargo.
Larger tires can reduce low-speed torque and raise clutch temps. If you jump two inches or add heavy tires, consider clutching changes. Recheck speedometer error with a speed change calculator.
Quick reference: typical bolt patterns and lug threads
Use this grid to plan wheels, then verify your exact model and year.
| Brand | Common bolt pattern | Common lug thread (check manual) |
|---|---|---|
| Polaris | 4×156 | Often M12×1.5 on newer models; some older used 3/8-24. Verify per model. |
| Honda | 4×110 | Often 10×1.25 mm. Verify per model. |
| Yamaha | 4×110 | Often 10×1.25 mm. Verify per model. |
| Can-Am | 4×137 | M10×1.25 or M12×1.5 depending on model. |
| Kawasaki | 4×110 | Often 10×1.25 mm. Verify per model. |
| Suzuki | 4×110 | Often 10×1.25 mm. Verify per model. |
| Arctic Cat | 4×110 on many late models; 4×115 on some older | Varies by model. Use the operator’s manual. |
FAQs
What does 27×9R14 mean in plain English
27 in tall, 9 in wide, fits a 14 in rim, and it is a radial. Keep the same overall diameter front to rear unless your manual calls for staggered sizing.
Can I mix different diameters front and rear
Only if the manufacturer specifies it. Most utility ATVs run same diameter front and rear with different widths. Mismatched diameters can affect stability, ABS where fitted, and 4×4 engagement. Check your manual.
How much larger can I go without clutch work
A one inch diameter jump is the usual ceiling before you feel gearing and heat trade-offs, but tire weight matters as much as size. Heavier tread designs can behave like a larger tire. If you go 2 inches or more, budget for clutching changes.
